Vs Sharnbrook (away) With a strong squad for our first away game and a new kit the girls were keen to get stuck in, in a very important quarter final game. The girls started slowly and were soon behind with a lucky bounce leading to a sharbrook goal early on in the first half. This however didn’t phase the girls who stepped up a gear and started to play good passing football using Ophelias pace and determination to their advantage. Despite this pressure a clearance from the back four lead to the ball rebounding of a sharnbrook player who then neatly slotted the ball past a driving Amina. 2- 0 Sharnbrook. The girls went into the 2nd half 2 goals down and within seconds of the kick off Ophelias hardworked paid off with a very well finished goal. 2- 1 Sharnbrook. This lifted all the girls heads and with a tactical change moving Shamma to the back and Rohida to centre mid allowing Brenna to push on. The girls again produced some excellent play from out wide with Sophie and Izzy and Georgina on the left and Lauren and Emily on the right. With 2 minutes to go Catherine put the Sharnbrook defence under a huge amount of pressure which lead to a great through ball to Ophelia who buried the ball in the bottom corner. Biddenham 2 Sharnbrook 2. Extra Time. With 5 mins each way extra it was always going to be hard work to get anything out of extra time. Despite this the Biddenham girls wanted a win and nothing was going to get in their way not even the lack of time! Right from the off Brenna was determined to get a goal and deep into the last half of extra time it came followed swiftly by the next! Biddenham 4 Sharnbrook 2.
