Description of subject The students have the opportunity to further development the knowledge and practical skills from AS. What will I learn includes? Students will learn : To design and make items from a brief chosen and written by themselves; Test and compare the merits of fabrics in relation to their use; Major developments in the textile industry; Manipulating and combining fabrics How will I be assessed? This will be a coursework design project worth 25% of total A Level marks and a written synoptic exam, which is also 25% What extras costs may be involved? (this is for field trips, specialist equipment etc) Students will need to purchase fabric, thread and any necessary components to manufacture their designs. Anything else I need to know Time management is an important skill especially during coursework |
