Greek Theatre Showcaseon Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th March 2006 On Monday 27th at 7.30 p.m. and Tuesday 28 th at 2.30 p.m. Year 12 will perform two modern plays based on ancient Greek Myths - Antigone by Jean Anouilh and Tales from Ovid by Ted Hughes. On Wednesday 29th at 2.30 p.m. Year 13 will perform their own adaptations of two classic Greek tragedies – Agamemnon and Bereavement (a version of The Libation Bearers ). We hope that the 2.30 pm. performance time will make it easy for students and staff to come and watch these plays. The sixth form examination work is always of an exceptionally high standard – last year no fewer than seven students achieved full marks for their acting skills – and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to come and be entertained. Do not miss this opportunity! Tickets cost £2.50 for each performance – that's £1.25 per play. A bargain! They will be on sale in the school foyer at break and lunch time from Monday 20th March. |
