Raffle tickets went like hot cakes in a fund raiser by students at Biddenham Upper School - and so did the hot cakes!
The students were based at Studio Zen in Chiltern Avenue, Bedford for the day, and were raising money for a shelter called Hope House for orphaned and abandoned children in South Africa.
Items in the raffle included a signed bottle of House of Commons whisky from Bedford and kempston MP Patrick Hall, cakes, drinks and cuddly toys. Bethany Coles who helped organise the event said "We raised £463 thanks to Sue and Lesley who run the salon, came up with the idea and were so enthusiastic".
