HIGH SHERIFF'S YOUNG PERSONS
CITIZENSHIP AWARDS 2004/2005

On the evening of the 3rd March 2005 Philip Lack (Year 10 student) accompanied by family members, attended a ceremony at Bedford County Hall where he was formally presented with a certificate. Philip was nominated for the award by Mr Mike Berrill, Principal at Biddenham Upper School for his work in initiating the Biddenham School Radio station which is soon to become the base for the East of England Broadband Consortium's Radio E2BN.

Throughout the evening guests were entertained by Wootton Upper School choir and nominees were presented with a certificate from The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Mr Clifton Ibbett, and a synopsis of their nomination letter was read out to the audience.

The qualifications for the High Sheriff's Citizenship Young Persons Awards were:

'A young person, being a member of their School or Youth Organisation, who has excelled or made an outstanding contribution, to the best of their ability, to the well-being of the school or club. Whose willingness, determination and caring attitude in everything they do and achieve is indeed an inspiration to others'

Following the ceremony all guests were made very welcome at a buffet, where they had the opportunity to meet with other nominees and talk in depth with the High Sheriff.

It was a truly inspiring evening, hearing of the wonderful work carried out by so many young people in our region and the nomination goes to show just how much your contribution to school life is appreciated.

Thanks to Mrs. Lack for the contribution.
