On Thursday 14th the school's top steel band performed at the National Festival of music in Birmingham. They played three pieces, and though we were not to know the result until the following Tuesday, there was a general agreement amongst those parents, governors and supporters that they had performed stupendously.

There were some twenty teams in their section. On Tuesday we learned that the adjudicators had awarded the grade of Outstanding - something very rarely given. The members of the band, Mr. Horton and Mr. Murphy have every reason to be very proud indeed. There is a likelihood that the band will be invited to play at the Royal Albert Hall in the autumn.
Congratulations! Stars, every one of them!
